Destructive people raise a deep red flag for me…huge flags.
They are people who tear down people, institutions, and lives…they are bullies, dividers, destroyers, thieves, liars, hatemongers, and cowards who demand and watch their subjects do their dirty work. Some are even pedophiles who rob our children of their dreams. They are not problem solvers, builders, architects, mentors, coaches, listeners, teachers, champions, or heroes.
Right in front of us we see election tampering, a cover-up of pedophiles, health agencies weakened, jobs disappearing, vaccinations eliminated, consumer protection agencies dismantled, food supply workers deported, personal savings vanishing, federal agencies in disarray, higher education diminished, military personnel deployed in communities, masked agents carting away our neighbors, women and men pushed out of work, small businesses struggling, safety net program dollars funneled to wealthiest Americans tax cut, brain drain in top positions, allies alienated, necessities including food prices soaring, and the list goes on and on and on.
I don’t know how you feel today, but no one I know thinks we are better off today than we were eight months ago. We have less savings, we feel less safe, we feel less brave, we feel less respected, we feel less America, our future is unstable, and many feel helpless because the people we elected to protect and defend our country have bent a knee. And of course, there are those who feel none of those things…in some case, they feel nothing.
Has the majority of “we the people” been so reeled into the psychological effects of receiving bad news every single day and the America we knew changing at this rapid pace that we are beset with a paralyzing fear, confusion, and disbelief that this could be happening to us? I hope we still have the spine, the courage of those who came before us–those who made America Great! I hope, I pray.
