What do you complain about the most?
Sometimes it might seem as if it is former President Trump I am mad at but I’m beginning to think it is more about the inability or unwillingness of people to do simple math:
- I recently read an article about inflation and the price of McDonald’s french fries as an economic indicator. My question is when is the last time you went to Wendy’s? Wendys offers a 4-for-4 meal that includes: a cheeseburger, nuggets, french fries and a drink…all for four bucks. That means the cheeseburger is $1, the nuggets are $1, the cheeseburger is $1, and the soda is $1. So, why did McDonald’s french fries double in price, but Wendy’s remained reasonable? Did Wendy’s “fresh, never frozen beef” and fries not experience the same inflationary factors as McDonalds? At some point, one has to ask “why did some restaurants experience astronomic increases and others not, or why did some landlords in the same area triple the rent while others remained reasonable?
- Virtually every nation in the world has experienced inflation in their COVID recovery. The United States is doing better than just about every other nation economically…and yet, many insist our President has no idea what he is doing. Our country is still recovering but it has come a long way in three years. Have you forgotten the numbers on the day Trump left office? The Democrats have continued to put forth policies to help those who are less able to handle the economic repercussions of the pandemic, specifically, families, the elderly, and the poor. Republicans have primarily embroiled themselves in culture wars…what have they “done” for you lately?
- Approximately 18 women, and E. Jean Carroll have accused President Trump of sexual assault. We saw him bragging on a video about his escapades. The initial award was only 5 million dollars, but simply because Trump could not control his behavior or use legal channels has now ballooned to more than 80 million dollars.
- Trump was President for four years. According to him a caravan was on its way throughout his campaign. No lasting legislation was passed by Congress to address immigration under his leadership. Throughout his campaign, Trump called for the construction of a border wall. He said that, if elected, he would “build the wall and make Mexico pay for it”. This was totally rejected by Mexico’s President. A 2021 review of the Trump work on the wall found only 47 miles of new barriers where none had previously existed.
- During his presidency, Trump faced the COVID crisis. He started out by pretending it did not exist, then he ignored scientists, he advertised hoax cures…but the worst thing is he never once said he was sorry for the mishandling or the pandemic. Never once has Trump said he was sorry to the families of those whose family members might have survived if he had just been honest. A matter of fact, once he got COVID and received the best care in the world blatantly exposed those who protected and served him to the virus…the Secret Service and the workers within the White House. How many people died and how many businesses closed because of Trump’s mismanagement?
- If the election was rigged, does that mean all of the Republicans who were on the ballot and won really lost?
Let me count the ways…it would take all week.
