I haven’t been writing lately because I’ve been watching the campaign of Vice President Kamala Harris and I am so pleased…she is running her campaign, and it is incredible. She’s staying close to the American people, obviously listening to us. She’s paying attention to the media, to her opponent, to her staff, and she’s obviously listening to, genuinely respects and adores President Biden. That said, it is her campaign and that is clear. It is clear she picked her running mate—Tim Walz. It is clear she is calling the shots and she’s incredibly good at it! I am excited. Young people are excited. Americans are excited. The world is on the edge of their seats.

There are all these other things going on in the world…hurricanes, fires, Ukraine, the Middle East, brewing wars, hostage negotiations, Trump and Musk attacks, MAGA election tampering, SCOTUS mischief, etc. And through all of this, all of our eyes are on Harris. Trump’s folks are watching him to see only what he has to say about Harris and to decide if they are going to stick with him. Republicans are even asking Democrats why they are not going calling out Trump’s physical faltering…Dems are like “Minding their own business.”  Independents and those on the fence are watching to see if Harris has what it takes. And guess what…President Biden is at rock star status in popularity because he so loves America–no-holds barred. And, he’s still President and still working for us.

We cannot wait until the Democratic Convention because it’s going to be wild. It will be the most watched Convention in the history of conventions. Different folks are watching for varied reasons…some for the entertainment, MAGA folks hoping for missteps and praying protesters ruin everything, some interested in the platform, but all of are waiting for Kamala Harris. We cannot wait to see what she has to say, and how she delivers.

It is important to say this ticket looks like the American Dream in action—it looks like people who have worked to make their living, people who know the struggles families go through to make it in our country—American born and immigrant—women, men, children, veterans, single, married, students, teachers, mothers, fathers, aunts, uncles, grandparents, etc.  They surround themselves with Americans…Americans from all walks of life.

I don’t know about the rest of you, but I see a President in the making…she’s coming into her own. She has the education, she has the experience, she an outstanding record to run on, she loves America and all of us, and she is blooming…every single time I see her, she is better than before. Furthermore, I find her trustworthy, committed, and what we see is who she is…primarily because so many longtime acquaintances have come forward to speak to that, including President Biden.

Let’s not fool ourselves, we will not agree with Harris on everything…that is an impossibility. The opposition will continue to lob bombs-true and untrue, and the Harris campaign will continue to fight. Voters will have to weigh the differences…and only voters can make this choice. So, let’s get to it!
