I truly want my grandchildren to have my heart and soul. I want them to be people who love and respect themselves and others. I want them to be honest, law-abiding, knowledge-seeking, trusting, empathetic, giving, thoughtful, problem-solving, curious, brave, loving, fair, goal-oriented and adventurous. I want them to have lifelong good friends and to be good lifelong friends…one doesn’t need an overabundance, but they do add spice if you have them. I want them to be able to take an honest inventory of themselves from time to time…and be wise enough to know when they have veered from who they want to be and where they want to go. I want them to be protectors and participants in our democracy…not just beneficiaries. I believe if I live my one life this way then my legacy will be a simple template for a good life and happy life. No one lives a perfect life, but one can have a hell of good time trying!
