All around us there are people who are not surviving life. Babies are dying from illness, hunger, hate, guns, bombs, parents, etc. Young people are dying from illness, hunger, hate, guns, bombs, young people, etc. Elderly people are dying from illness, hunger, hate, guns, bombs, people, etc. If you have become an adult in this world, you should give yourself a pat on the back. You are one of the ones who survived.
I am proud of the life I have lived. Proud of my travels, my service, my children, my career, my health, but it didn’t have to be this way. I’ve seen the babies who didn’t survive, the children who didn’t survive, the young people who didn’t survive, and my classmates who are long gone. Oh yes, I am proud to still be here…proud to have survived. It could have easily been me who didn’t…or you.
Tomorrow is not promised, so don’t take today lightly!
