I Would Love to Give Up the Word “Condolences”

Daily writing prompt
If you had to give up one word that you use regularly, what would it be?

I find myself using the word “Condolences” far more these days. Specifically, “Condolences to your family for your loss.” It seems that far too often I am comforting a family whether in person or online for the loss of a loved one due to cancer, suicide, drug overdoses, COVID, accidental or intentional shooting, murder, vehicle accidents, Alzheimer’s, weather-related incidents, hatred, domestic violence, elderly abuse, etc. I wish we lived in a world where we took better care of ourselves, each other, our children, our parents, our neighbors, our environment, our world.
