Will Trump Ever Stop Gaming the American People?

Yesterday, my gut told me the Wall Street Journal’s latest poll was tomfoolery and blogged the headline “Trump is Not Tied with Biden…He’s Not Even Close.”  And, what breaks a later in the day but this nugget, “Trump campaign paid pollster hired by Wall Street Journal $600,000: records.”

Special Counsel Jack Smith is asking the court to harness Trump’s efforts to taint the jury pool with his social media posts and public ranting about the justice system.

So, what is the answer to deal with this former President who seems to have no problem gaming the American public by any means necessary.  I personally think the answer is not to gag Trump, but to fast track his court dates.   Sadly, he’s a master of gaming the court system as well.

But, just as things look pretty dire, I look over and see another story, Republican Who Spoke Out Against Trump Wins GOP Primary.

Could it be that Trump’s weaving, bobbing, dodging, bamboozling, and whining is convincing more people of his guilt rather than his innocence…maybe the majority of American voters are smarter than he thinks they are. Or maybe Trump realizes he’s losing and that is the reason for all of the weaving, bobbing, dodging, bamboozling, whining, buying pollsters, and other deceptive practices.

Maybe we need to sit just back and let the system run its course…trust our system and it’s checks and balances.

I am encouraged by Sir Walter Scott’s words, “Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive.”  Trump’s reign began with deceit and has endured with deceit.

I pray the truth will make us free.
